Series 1 : 7 episodes - 55 minutes each.
Personally I think this is the best drama TV show ever. Quite a statement. I'm not sure how to justify it except to say 'watch one episode" - any one and you'll know if it's for you. You'll be hooked in 2 minutes or not. At the moment the only UK comparision is Shameless (for unique writings style - love em both. Here's the storyline of Northern Exposure... Joel Fleishman is fresh out of medical college, and fresh out of luck. Failing to read the fine print in his scholarship conditions, he finds he has no choice but to move to the remote and somewhat eccentric town of Cicely, in the wilds of Alaska. Once there, he is welcomed by the peculiar locals who are not keen to see him go, most especially Maurice Minnifield, the ex-NASA astronaut. Despite Joel's adamant denials, one gets the impression that he enjoys life in Cicely more than he admits. Episodes : 1 - Aurora Borealis (pilot)

If you have £130 (Amazon - May 2010) for the box set of Northern Exposure - buy it, but if want to buy each series (or even part series) in installments then I can help. As each series has a different number of episodes (series 1 had seven episodes, but laters series had up to 25 episodes, but were 10 minutes shorter) it's difficult to give donation costs for everything. I'll try to keep each disk to either 3 or 4 episodes per disk to preserve picture quality, and charge £2/£3 each disk depending how many you order at once. You don't have to get every episode of the larger series all at once - I'll do the episodes in order for you then then you can get more later (in order of course). To the right are example costs for series 1,2 and 3 - £5 or £10 per series total which should give an inication of donations costs. Series 2: 7 episodes - 55 minutes each.
