The A Bunch of Five
In 1992, Reeves and Mortimer made their first brief detour into sitcoms by writing and recording a pilot episode of The Weekenders, a one-off pilot for Channel 4's Bunch Of Five season. The Human League vocalist Phil Oakey, and the future Fast Show trio of Paul Whitehouse, John Thomson and Simon Day, all co-starred. The Weekenders is also notable as the one programme where Vic is intentionally referred to throughout by his real name, Jim. Intended to be a series, the programme was never commissioned. |

Series 1
The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer was a BBC TV sketch show written by and starring double act Vic Reeves & Bob Mortimer. It is regarded by many as the pinnacle of their TV work to date. Its first series appeared in 1993 following the duo's move to the BBC after parting company with Channel 4. The show marked a continuation of Reeves & Mortimer's bizarre, anarchic and frequently silly comedy first explored on Vic Reeves Big Night Out, with a number of important differences. Firstly, Mortimer was now Reeves' partner as opposed to his assistant on the previous programme, and as well as getting his name in the title, he shared the trademark, prop-strewn desk with Reeves. |

Series 1 [6 episodes]
Bang Bang, It's Reeves and Mortimer was their third television sketch show, which aired in January 1999 on BBC2 in the United Kingdom. While maintaining certain elements from The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer, the show was very different in many ways. There were also a number of pre-recorded sketches, all of which heightened the obtuse, unusual nature of much of the show. These would often feature Charlie Higson, Morwenna Banks, Matt Lucas and David Walliams in supporting or cameo roles. |

Monkey Trousers - Series 1 [6 episodes]
Monkey Trousers was a short-lived comedy series produced by Bob Mortimer and Vic Reeves' production company, Pett Productions. It was the successor of The All Star Comedy Show, which was written by Reeves and Mortimer, and produced by Steve Coogan. Sketches of the show included the moronic, yet fearless 'Croc Botherer' (played by Mortimer), Roy the eerie, lonely toy-shopkeeper (played by Coogan), Alistair the hopeless estate agent, who replies to every question with "I don't know", the swearing chef, and the 'Geordie Astronauts' (played by Reeves, Mortimer and Mark Benton). |

Vic Reeves | Who Do You Think You Are
Known to millions as the master of surreal comedy, Vic Reeves is the on-screen creation of Jim Moir, a man with a mysterious past. "I've always grilled my Mum about what happened in our family," he says. "I suppose it's being a nosy Parker, starring in your own personal soap opera." Certainly all the ingredients are there. Moir's grandfather was the son of a butler, sporting spats and a wing collar. "Turns out my grandfather was a bit of a spinner of yarns," he reveals. "There are some dark areas to sort out. |
