Adam & Joe
The Adam and Joe Show was Adam Buxton's and Joe Cornish's debut, their Adam and Joe Show was a British television comedy show, written and presented by them which ran for four series on Channel 4 between 1996 and 2001. Most of their joint TV output is bizzare, off the wall wackiness and deliberately low in production value as that is how they started out and it is a stark contrast to special effects tv with no real content. | ||||

Adam And Joe Go Tokyo This was a series of eight episodes created for the BBC's new channel BBC Three. The aim of the show was to offer an alternative insight into the lives of Tokyo's citizens, with the obligatory look at a number of gadgets and toys along the way. The show outlined many pastimes of the average (or less so) Japanese person, everything from competitive speed eating to manga cosplay. Each episode would end with a Japanese band joining the show to perform (seelist to left). |

The Last Chancers
Not commercially released on DVD. A comedy drama written by Tony MacMurray and Adam Buxton, The Last Chancers follows the fate of a group of Brighton twenty-somethings and their 'underground' rock band. Lead singer Johnny is an uptight office worker who pours all his energy into the band in an attempt to escape his miserable 9 to 5 existence. Unfortunately, band members Dan and Paul don't share his enthusiasm, while Johnny thinks that ageing drummer Brian projects a totally unsuitable image. But the arrival of the sultry and infinitely more talented songstress Liv and a Battle of the Bands contest could just give the group the opportunity they've been waiting for - if only people would get their name right... |

Not commercially released on DVD. Takeover TV's concept was 'open access television'. Viewers made a video and sent it in and it might get played. If it hadn't been for Adam & Joe's involvement I'm not sure the idea would have made it to our TV screens. The the internet took off big time and people could create and post and control their own videos through YouTube.com etc. 6/10. |
