The trials and tribulations of a group of binmen brought together by their common love of their job. It is similar in nature to two other seminal UK TV dramas - Boys From The Black Stuff and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. If you enjoyed those, you will feel right at home with this gang of at first unruly boozing and apparently lazy binmen, but as each episode unfolds each characters' story develops and all events intertwine until they become triumphant ovwer their corrupt bosses. Series 2 : 6 episodes - 50 minutes each. The second series sees the band of brothers sacked from their jobs (Nev retires to Fleetwood) and trun their hand to a multitude of odd jobs, including windows cleaning, painting and decorating (one memorable scene is Ken paint God creating Adam (from Sistine Chapel) on a church ceiling and later Bernhard add a bin wagon and the shows characters to it much to the interest of the local press and aflicted locals looking to be cured of their illnesses. Eventulally Ken sets up a hair dressing salon with Cathy Burke's character which becomes central to the plot involving the redevelopment of the land for a new Millenium Sports stadium. |
